It’s all about balance, and it’s all about staying accountable! That is why I created this blog. First came the Instagram account @balancinginthekitchen which was meant to chronicle my daily eats as I attempt to balance the healthy and the not-so-healthy.
My philosophy is that it is important in life to keep yourself healthy, but it is also important to enjoy life. And for me, food is where I get much of my enjoyment. It’s not always the healthy, picturesque food that I showcase on the blog or instagram (admittingly).
This blog is also not filled with my own recipes and creations (while some are), but rather recipes and ideas that come from my plethora of cookbooks, apps, and (my favorite) the Tone It Up (TIU) Nutrition Plan. I have been a TIU member since January 2015, and I love to partake in the various challenges they have throughout the year.
I hope, if anything, this blog will instill the thoughts that it is not about calorie-counting or those harsh diets, but most importantly about what you feed your body. I have tried many diets and programs, and I can tell you I am much happier forgetting about the tracking and focusing on what foods make me feel the best.
